Frappe, the company behind ERPNext, publishes regular updates: frequent patch releases with fixes, and a new major version every year or two with larger changes. Staying current keeps you secure and supported.

Patch releases

Small fixes and improvements. We apply them on a schedule, after testing, outside working hours.

Major versions

New features and changes to how parts of the system work. These need more care.

  1. We copy your live system to a test environment
  2. We upgrade the copy and test your own forms, reports and integrations
  3. Your super users check the processes they own
  4. We agree a date and upgrade the live system, with a backup taken just before

Your own changes

Custom fields, workflows and reports built the standard way move with each upgrade. Deeper changes are kept in a separate app, so they can be tested and carried forward.
